    I have entered a costume contest. Didn't win - but took 3rd place. I bought some light pink-ish material and some batting and sewed a 7-foot long, 3 foot wide piece that was rounded at one end. Did one stitch down the middle of the length. Wound it all around me from knees to head with the rounded end at the top and entered the contest as a "tongue twister".

    I don't recall ever entering one, but I have judged them before. I've traditionally been too busy scaring the pants off of people to judge a contest lol

    I have entered a Halloween contest and was dressed as the Wicked Witch right down to the ugly nose, warts, long nasty black wig..the whole nine yards..I won first place and a bottle of Wild Turkey LOL!! It was a blast!! :) Great giveaway! :)

    I attend a Halloween costume party every year, with a theme determined by the hosts. There's a awards ceremony every year. Lots and LOTS of fun, and the winner gets to keep the trophy for a year! I came close 2 years ago with my mummy costume...handmade by me, with full theatre makeup including rotting flesh. :-)

    Yes I was Wilma Flintstone and no didn't win. The prize was cash....It was the only costumes left when my boyfriend and I at the time went. he went as Fred and me Wilma. It was freezing cold and we had these timy caveman suits on LOL

    I entered once upon a time in a costume contest. I didn't win with my costume but I was placed 4th as Velma from Scooby Doo back in the early 80s.

    Talk about bringing back memories, when I was in 8th grade a friend and I made an outhouse from a refridgerator box and I had bib overalls a straw hat old boots flannel shirt a bb gun (no BBS) and a few pillows for stuffing, and she wore an old granny dress, wig, well you get the picture..we came in second. The lady who won was dressed as the statue of liberty, she was painted in a patina color from head to toe and held a torch up, she didn't smile and just stood still, she looked amazing.

    Wow - hasn;t everyone? I grew up having mom made winning kick-ass costumes every year...one year I was an Ice Princess...tinsle, hoop skirt and silver lame'... Another year I was a flamingo dancer...picture somewhere on my FB page... another I was a monster in an old raccon coat from the 50's that was my dads, won me another $50... as I got older we spent 6 motnhs planning, researching and making our costumes to wear to the bars... Paper mache knight in shining armor and dragon...wish I had a picture! I won at least $5,000 over the many years I have loved playing dress up - in fact I get upset if I do not win at least something!
